Yuma's Animals Have No One Else. That's Why We Exist.
Over 400 Yuma neighbors have already stepped up — adopting, fostering, and volunteering since 2020. We're 100% volunteer-run, no-kill, and completely donor-funded. Every animal receives full medical care before adoption. Every dollar raised goes directly to the animals. The only thing standing between them and a second chance is you.

"Homeward Bound changed our lives. We found our best friend and the support was incredible."
— A Yuma AdopterWhy Homeward Bound?
Since 2020, our entirely volunteer team has been saving Yuma's most vulnerable animals — cats and dogs who have nowhere else to go. No salaries. Every dollar raised goes to the animals — rent, vet bills, food, and care. Just love, hard work, and community.
No-Kill Commitment
We never euthanize for space or time. Every animal receives every possible chance.
Full Medical Care
All rescues receive vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and needed treatment before adoption — no shortcuts.
Born in Yuma
Built by Yuma people, for Yuma animals. Our roots run deep in this community.
Serving Yuma, AZ, Foothills, Somerton, San Luis, Wellton, and surrounding communities. Homeward Bound is a 100% volunteer-run, no-kill animal rescue — where most animals live in real foster homes while they wait for their forever family.
Our Story →Real Yuma Families. Real Stories.
Hundreds of Yuma families have opened their homes and hearts through Homeward Bound. These are their words.
"We weren't sure we were ready. But the team took the time to understand our family, matched us with the right dog, and made the whole process feel simple. Two years later, he sleeps at the foot of our bed every night. I didn't know something could change your home like that."
"I started fostering thinking I'd do it once, just to help. That was 14 animals ago. YHBR provides everything — food, vet care, support — and watching a scared, shut-down animal come alive in your home over a few weeks is something I can't put into words. It costs me nothing and gives me everything."
"I walked in on a Tuesday with no real plan. Filled out a short application, met a few cats, and went home that afternoon with mine. She was hiding under the bed for three days — by day four she was on my lap. Six months later I can't imagine the apartment without her. The team still checks in. That matters."
"I've donated to rescues before and always wondered where the money actually went. With YHBR I know — no salaries, no overhead. I give $20 a month and I've seen the animals it helps. That kind of transparency is rare. I tell everyone in Yuma about them."
